We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Holy Cross College Family – School Partnership recognises and values the role that parents and carers play in the education of their children and aims to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community for the benefit of their children’s overall development and learning.
To better support and encourage parents’ engagement with their son’s learning, well-being and faith development and to better meet the needs of contemporary high school parents, the Family – School Partnership (FSP) was launched at the Parents in Touch Forum in 2015 and has continued to be a feature of the College since.
Communities of Interest around the themes of: learning; well-being; faith development; home-school communication, and; enhancing social connections within the College community are the areas of focus for these meetings. Parents set the agenda and workshops are organised around these themes and interests. Each year an annual convocation of the FSP is held in the second half of Term 4 to identify the areas of interest for the following year.
